Cost
Entry is £25 per person for the 100Km or 150Km Gran Fondo. Entry will be £30 cash on the day.
Online entires close at midnight on Friday 15th June 2012. Entries will be available on the day. All entries include a donation to the National Trust.
Event Registration
Event registration will be open from 7.15am until 9.15am. You will receive an electronic timing device to record your times. Please allow plenty of time to register and do not leave it too late before the final start time of 10.00am
Start / Finish Times
You are allowed to start the event whenever you like between 7:30am and 9:30am. The course will close at 5.00pm
Directions
Driving
From London / The West / The East: Take the M1 North to junction 9. Take the A5 towards Dunstable, turn left onto the B4540, after 3 miles enter the roundabout and take the B4541 towards Dunstable. The event car park is 1 mile up the hill on the left.
From The North / Midlands: Take the M1 South to junction 11. Take the A505 to Dunstable and continue on the B489 until the left hand turning on to the B4541. The event car park is 1 mile up the hill on the right.

Public Transport
The nearest train stations to the event are Leagrave Station (4 miles) and Luton Station (5 miles). Taxi's are available at both stations.
Car Parking
Parking is free to National Trust members otherwise it is 1.50 per car. We do encourage you to car share to do our little bit to help the environment and have a limited effect on the site. To explore joining the National Trust click here.
Baggage
As the Start / Finish is next to the car park we would advise that you leave all your belongings in your cars. If you arrive by train there will be a secure storage area for all your belongings.
Changing
There will be very limited male and female changing areas. We strongly recommend that you arrive in your cycling clothes and bring additional warm and dry items to put on after the event. We regret that there are NO SHOWER facilities on site at the venue.
Photography
Extensive photography will be available to view and purchase after the event.
Timing & Results
There will be a event clock at the start / finish line. Results will be posted on the website within 24 hours of the finish. Event timing will be done using electronic chip timing. Please remember NO CHIP = NO TIME.
First Aid
Medical support will be present on the course and at the finish. You should be relatively fit and have no known medical conditions.
Toilets
Toilet facilities will be available at the start and finish. May we ask all competitors to be respectful of the local environment, facilities and other competitors in all sanitary matters!
Food / Water
There will be a complimentary feed station around the 50 Km mark and another one at the 100 Km mark for competitors entering the 150 Km route. There will be water and complimentary electrolyte and energy drinks available at the event centre. There will be a large selection of sports nutrition available to buy on the day and there will also be tea, coffee and hot food to buy pre ride from the National Trust Caf . After the event there will be hot food on offer and also recovery drinks and bars.
Transfers
We regret that having entered the event we will not be able to provide any refund or credit either in full or in part whatever the circumstances of the entrants' non-attendance. However if you are unavailable to ride we are happy for you to give your entry to somebody else but will require you to complete this process online.

Safety Points
You will be riding on the open road alongside other traffic so it is essential for your own safety and that of all other road users that you comply with ALL TRAFFIC REGULATIONS.
Please ensure you obey any instructions given by the route marshal's and pay particular attention at traffic lights, roundabouts and difficult turns.
As we are providing back-up facilities we must insist that your supporters, friends and family do not bring any vehicles out on the route to follow you as this will create congestion and will be a danger to cyclists and other road users.
In the Event of an Accident - If you are involved in a serious accident requiring immediate medical attention then ring 999, then the First Aid number below. For minor injuries there are basic 1st Aid kits at each of the feed stations.
Assistance During the Ride - Should you require assistance please phone the following event control number:

We strongly recommend that you add this number to your mobile phone and keep with you at all times during the event. Please do not use this number inappropriately.
Riders' Code of Conduct - You will be riding on public roads, so you must obey Highway Code regulations. Any rider seen not complying with the code will be reported and may be subject to sanctions including being reported to the police and being banned from future events.
Litter - There will be litter and recycling bins at the event HQ and at feed stations. Please use them and don't drop any litter it gives cyclists a bad name!
FINAL CHECK LIST - DON'T FORGET!
- Your event number, this will be emailed to you when you register.
- Keep your event timing device safe and securely attach to you're wrist.
- A full change of warm and dry clothing.
- Money for tea / coffee / food / kit.
- To eat a healthy meal and to try and avoid alcohol the night before the event.
- To eat something light and drink plenty of water prior to the event.
